During WW2 an Anti-Aircraft Searchlight Battery was used for the detection, location and illumination of enemy aircraft during darkness enabling Gun Batteries to fire at enemy aircraft efficiently.
It took a team of 12 men to operate ONE Searchlight Battery!
Coming to the night skies of Ipswich, Suffolk – The Suffolk Military Show Control Station will recreate this atmospherically jaw dropping spectacular over the Military and Vintage show. A military siren will herald the event on social media as it goes live each night!
